Carmen Bekker to co-chair IPA New Business & Marketing Group
The IPA New Business and Marketing Group serves as the voice of new business and marketing excellence. The Group actively promotes best practice and works together to help raise the standards of professionalism and the understanding and perception of this key agency discipline, to campaign on issues relating to pitches and other agency selection processes.
During Cormac’s tenure, he was instrumental in the success of the IPA/ISBA Good Pitch Week, which took place in November. The week comprised of six events for both clients and agencies including sharing sessions of alternative pitch processes and discussions with procurement professionals. He also helped agree and produce an industry standard RFI template for media agencies and create the six media pitch principles.
Says Carmen Bekker: “I am delighted to be taking on the role as co-chair of the Group with Katie and look forward to building on the good work that Cormac has initiated. The Group plays a valuable role in developing standards, industry training and peer review, as well as increasing the perception of the role and recruiting the best talent into the discipline. New business is critical to agencies and a major decision for marketing directors and their teams. Continuing to make the process more transparent, more efficient and effective is something that we are sure will be welcomed on both sides.”
