E-cigarettes and the Tobacco Products Directive

The IPA is advising its members about amendments proposed to the EU Tobacco Products Directive which will affect the advertising of e-cigarettes .


The amendments will result in a two-tier system, one for e-cigarettes as consumer products, and one for them as licensed products. Until the amendments become law, advertisers will need to follow CAP guidance, ASA adjudications and, for broadcast ads, Clearcast advice, as to how to advertise e-cigarettes within the rules.
