The session also sought to explore what measures should be adopted by the Government, with subsequent recommendations made to the Government by the committee, to ensure that the British advertising training system can still attract the best students from around the world.

Said Paul Bainsfair: “The UK advertising agency scene is regarded, along with the USA, as the leader in the world in terms of strategic thinking and creative ideas.  It is fair to say that the UK advertising agency industry is a world-class UK industry and, therefore, we welcome very much this inquiry and the more help you can give to the industry, which is facing all sorts of challenges, mostly to do with technology and change, the better.”

Paul, who was joined by Kate Burnett, MD of DMA Talent and Raphael Salama of AKQA, covered a range of areas during the discussion, including: diversity and the UK adland’s multicultural workforce, the value of the creative industries, the international offering of the UK’s agencies, the IPA’s Foundation Certificate and wider training offering, the Apprenticeship Levy, and more.
