IPA elects new members - 15th September 2005
At its quarterly council meeting (15 September 2005), the IPA elected six new agencies into membership. New member agencies include specialists in full service, marketing communications, digital media, direct response, and media planning and buying.

Albion: This full service creative agency based in London was established in 2002 and employs 15 people. Jason Goodman is the Managing Director and Matthew Gibbins and Nick Darken are the Creative Directors. Clients include Innocent Drinks, Virgin.net, Skype, Blaupunkt and The National Gallery.
Chalk & Ward Advertising Ltd: This full service agency is based in Exeter and was established in 1998, it employs 18 people. Robert Chalk, Managing Director, and Giles Ward, Creative Director, are the founding partners. Apetito, P&O Cruises, Mole Valley Farmers, Business Link and Ascot International.
Connect Advertising & Marketing LLP: This marketing communications agency, based in Wolverhampton, was established in 1993 and employs 52 people. Rob Hampton is the founder and Managing Director, Martin Heffernan and Ian Boulter are the Creative Directors. Their clients include Bentley Motors, LDV vans, Calor, National Express and Sealine Motor Yachts.
Summit Media Ltd: This full service digital media agency is based in East Yorkshire, with offices in the Midlands and Prague, and was founded in 1994 by the Aylott family. The agency employs 60 people and Hedley Aylott is the Managing Director. Clients include Dabs.com, Panasonic UK, Powergen, Play.com, Viking Direct and Virgin Cars.
MediaVest (Leeds) Ltd: This media planning and buying agency, based in Leeds, was established in 2003 and employs 12 people. Annette Armitage and Dominic Geary are the founding Managing Partners. Clients include Jet2.com, Yorkshire Building Society, Glen Dimplex Group, The Car People and Tate & Lyle.
Total Media Direct Ltd: This is a lead generation and customer acquisition specialist agency based in London and part of the Total Media Group. It was established in 2003 and employs five people. Lucas Brown is the Managing Director of the agency. Mike Sell is the Chief Executive of Total Media Group, Gary Sellars and Nigel Potter are the joint MDs and Daniel D’Mello is the Finance Director. Clients include Bupa International, Choices, Holmes Place, Stena Line and Travel City Direct.
In addition to ten corporate members, 44 personal members (MIPAs) were elected. This brings the personal member count to 637. As of 1st July 2005 the criteria for personal membership changes to include successful completion of an IPA qualification in addition to the existing criteria.

The IPA is the industry body and professional institute for UK advertising, media and marketing communications agencies and was established in 1917 as a servicing body and to negotiate on behalf of its members with media bodies, government departments and unions. The IPA’s 244 corporate members represent the major part of the advertising agency business, handling advertising with an estimated value of some £7,000 million per year (over 80 per cent of advertising placed by agencies) on behalf of many tens of thousands of their client companies and organisations nationwide.
