IPA elects new members - 16th March 2004

Six new agencies elected at the IPA Council on 16th March 2004: Alcazar, Boy Meets Girl S&J, CUBA, PWLC, Universal McCann, Zalpha


At it's council meeting (Tuesday 16th March 2004), the IPA elected the following six companies into membership. New members include full service and brand development agencies. This brings the total IPA membership to 223.

Alcazar: This brand development agency was set up in 1996 and is based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Hugh Cheswright is the Managing Director and the agency has twelve staff. Current clients include Anderson & Garland Fine Art Auctioneers, Beamish Open Air Museum, Hadrian's Wall Tourism Partnership, Northumbria and Cumbria Tourist Boards, Northway Tyres part of the Kwik-Fit Group and Durham Business School.

Boy Meets Girl S& J: Boy Meets Girl S&J launched in January 2004 with David Pemsel as CEO, Andy Law as chairman and Kate Stanners as Creative Director. The agency was developed to offer clients best in class creative solutions from a multi-disciplined creative department skilled in all communications including advertising, direct, promotions, digital, PR and internal communications. The agency has 85 staff and their clients include Daimler Chrysler, Buena Vista, Channel 4, Kraft and Total.

CUBA: Founded in 2000, CUBA is an award-winning full service agency headed up by joint Managing Directors Phillip Hannaford-Clark and Russell Lloyd-Jones. This agency has seven staff and their client list includes the History Channel, All Nippon Airways (Europe), Star Alliance, and BBC Worldwide.

PWLC:  Leeds based advertising agency PWLC have grown since they launched in 2002 to become a UK Top 30 Agency with billings of £40 million. With top agency and client backgrounds, PWLC’s client’s include Fox’s Biscuits, Alliance and Leicester and DFS.  PWLC are currently the fastest growing advertising agency outside London. Joint partners are Mike Phillipson, John Longworth, Rick Ward and Pete Camponi.

Universal McCann: Universal McCann has offices in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Belfast and Dublin and is part of a global network with offices in over 110 countries around the world. Andy Jones and Damien Blackden are Joint Managing Directors in London and their clients include Autoglass, Bacardi-Martini, RHM, Sky, L'Oreal, Microsoft, Motorola, The Telegraph and Nestlé.

Zalpha: Zalpha is a communications planning and consulting agency specialising in brand, data and communication planning.  Zalpha have 20 employees with Matthew Eccles as CEO and Clare Rossi as partner. Their clients include Eurotunnel, Cahoot, RSPCA, Garnier and Pfizer.
