IPA responds to Government’s Late Payment Consultation
The paper, which requested responses from both businesses and “representative bodies” by 9 March, asked whether both small and large businesses believe that customer companies include grossly unfair payment provisions in their standard terms and whether representative bodies should have the right to bring claims against those customer companies which do indulge in such practices.
The IPA has responded to the paper to confirm that it would expect to be entitled to represent its members should the government introduce new legislation allowing representative bodies to bring claims on behalf of their members. We will monitor progress of the paper and shall report back to members of any progress.
