Ready yourself for SXSW registration on 1st August
Whilst the 2017 festival doesn’t take place until Friday 10th – 16th March, any delegates interested in making the trip will need to begin planning for it now. Hotel rooms can only be reserved once you’re registered and the last two years saw all downtown hotels fully booked by the end of the first day of registration. Also, the earlier delegates register, the cheaper the price of attendance.
Delegates wishing to register should note that the festival schedule has changed slightly from last year. Some of the Interactive content streams will be taking place on the Wednesday and Thursday of the Festival, whereas in previous year’s, all Interactive streams finished on the Tuesday. The IPA has attended the SXSW Interactive Festival for the last six years, acting as an informal host to fellow delegates from the industry, providing a support network and offering timely advice and information regarding the event.
If you would like regular updates and advice, including how to find the best accommodation, email Davidd@ipa.co.uk.
The IPA also hosts a popular blog to capture the news and views of some of the world’s brightest minds in technology, featuring blogs from member agencies attending the event.
Says Nigel Gwilliam, IPA Consultant Head of Media and Emerging Technology, “Every year the key topics of SXSW interactive become increasingly relevant to mainstream marketing. VR and Ai, the poster children of SXSW 2016, are already being interwoven into the fabric of advertising. We don’t yet know what the key trends for SXSW 2017 will be. But that’s the whole point.”
