How To Handle Difficult People

Here’s a course to give you the tools and confidence to help you transform a difficult relationship into something productive and strong. The premise of this course is that it’s very hard to change their behaviour, but you can change your own – you just need to know how to.

Who is the course for?

We work in a people industry, and generally like most of the people around us – that’s one of the things that makes this industry so great!  However, there is always someone – a Client, a Creative, somebody important that you deal with who you either rub up the wrong way, or, they just don’t seem to like you or respect you. 

This can cause you to worry, feel anxious, do the wrong thing and affect your performance.

Key learning outtakes:

Improve your emotional intelligence.

A better understanding of yourself, and in doing so a better understanding of others (particularly the tricky ones) using the Myers Briggs personality profiling.

A crash course in Transactional Analysis – often the route of the problem.

How to better handle conflict including:

  • Preparation for conflict resolution, define the issue and depersonalise it
  • Communication styles and body language
  • Influencing strategies
  • Listening skills – and what a difference they can make
  • How to say no and still look good
  • Understand your contribution and what makes you great
