This workshop offers a comprehensive and down-to-earth guide to managing the types of pressures we face in agency life. You’ll go away with a better understanding of what stress is (and what’s happening in the body and brain) and you’ll be armed with practical approaches to help you thrive under pressure.

  • Setting the context - stress in today’s world. Delegates can share the types of stress they experience in agency life.
  • How the body responds to stress and the effect of the stress reaction. The balance between good and unhelpful stress.
  • Techniques and exercises for re-framing your thinking and how you can step back, re-assess and handle stressful challenges.
  • Practical ideas on how you can change the way you work day-to-day and manage your workload to alleviate stress.
  • A down-to-earth review of theories and techniques around mindfulness, breathing and relaxation, including clinical evidence of how they impact the stress reaction in the body. A review of the apps and other tools available.
  • How other aspects of your lifestyle (like exercise and sleep) impact stress.
