Who is this course for?

This is a half day course for anyone new to an agency with healthcare clients: prescription and over the counter (OTC) medicines or devices.

From molecules to medicines: understanding the forces that shape the process

The healthcare industry is a highly regulated industry that operates like no other. This introductory course will help you orientate yourself, so you can successfully navigate the healthcare landscape. We will provide a broad overview of how a molecule becomes a medicine, the different categories of medicines and their importance, along with the role of creativity in promoting medicines to healthcare professionals and consumers.

Designed to be interactive and engaging, the training will combine a mixture of fundamental principles and case study-based sessions to ensure learnings can be applied immediately on return to work.

Key learnings

In order to understand the medicines’ landscape and the forces shifting the status quo, the course covers:

  • Overarching view of the medicines landscape, terminology, and codes of practice
  • The discovery of new drugs and how they are developed
  • The challenges and opportunities of the current industry climate
  • The role of creativity in the commercialisation of medicines
