For our next IPA creative masterclass we are delighted to have the award winning photographer and director David Boni and Producer and owner of Eyebolls Production Rhona Drummond join us.
David and Rhona will be discussing their work, how best to work with photographers, casting agents, locations scouts and models, as well as highlighting areas that will assist you when working on any photographic shoot be that still life or location.
This masterclass will also double up as an inspiration session as David talks about his upcoming documentary on the influential punk band The Stranglers.
David Boni is an award-winning advertising photographer and director. Equally comfortable shooting stills or directing live-action TV commercials and online content, David’s beautiful lighting, crisp direction and calm persona make every shoot a pleasure.
Starting out as a still life photographer – with Irving Penn as his inspiration for making absolutely anything look beautiful – David moved into portraiture and then expanded into moving image. David’s moving image work is now growing from purely commercials into documentary. He’s currently directing and producing ( with the help from Eyebolls ) his first feature documentary about The Stranglers one of the greatest bands to emerge form the late 70’s Punk Rock scene.
After graduating from St Andrews University in 1999 Rhona quickly moved in to the advertising world where she gained a Graduate Traineeship at The Bridge Advertising Agency. Following her 3 years here she joined The Gate Films in Manchester where she gained real hands on experience in all aspects of TV production, she then returned north and opened up the Scottish office for The Gate Films.
Back in Scotland she was offered Head of Production at Newhaven Communications where she worked for 4 years, gaining valuable management and large budget experience. Life then changed by way of three beautiful children. She then re-joined The Gate Films in 2013 as Head of Production for Scotland to help grow the company further, developing staff, increasing sales and quality of production and turnover. Rhona left The Gate Films in 2016 to concentrate on running Eyebolls.
Rhona has produced commercials for many leading directors and international brands and continues to do so at Eyebolls, as well as now producing short films, an animated TV Series and a slate of live action and animated feature film ideas.
Rhona’s passion is for clever and successful production in live action, photography and animation. She enjoys the details of production and is keen to pass this knowledge along in the IPA session.
Please note this masterclass is only available for IPA member agencies.
