Based on the results from the first IPA Diversity survey results in 2016, the IPA Diversity strategy is geared towards supporting the industry to achieve the 3 targets set to 2020 - the first being around gender equality and calls for women holding 40% of senior positions within all agencies, and at each stage of the career ladder. Currently the proportion of women at C-suite level is barely over 30%.
However we should be encouraged by the progress that has been made since these targets were three years ago – and make sure we are acknowledging (and learning from) the trailblazers and innovators in this area.
To coincide with International Women’s Day, the IPA are hosting a celebratory event on 7th March 2019 to support and inspire the industry in moving towards the targets, with a view to improving women’s progression and retention.
We will be addressing key gender-specific opportunities and challenges by:
