IPA Training Forum: Managing through life events

This session is aimed at line managers, CPD managers, and all those who are managing direct reports through life events.

How to become more empathetic and knowledgeable in your support for those going through life events.

This session will explore:

  • Maternity
  • Paternity
  • Infertility
  • Bereavement
  • Menopause
  • and other unexpected life turns

It will make the case for an upskilling in line managers, and share real life stories from individuals experiencing such events and conclude with tips and best practice.

Learning Outcomes: 

  • Understanding of why upskilling is required and the difference the line manager can make.
  • A sense of the skills that a line manager can lean in to develop so as to support individuals.
  • Greater empathy for the experience of individuals going through life events.
  • They'll leave with tips and tools to better support direct reports and signposting to further resources. 

Your Speaker:

Roxanne is a certified co-active coach who is also trained in the work of Brené Brown. She is passionate about the diversity and inclusivity agenda believing that we need to remove the barriers to success in the workplace and create cultures where people can show up as themselves and be valued for it.  Her background is in the media and creative industries and she strongly believes that the skills needed there - including creativity and innovation -  are rooted in diversity, authenticity and vulnerability.
