Within marketing and communications, Nestlé works predominately with three key global partners: WPP, Publicis and IPG. The media assignment is split geographically across the media arms of these global partners, such as GroupM for WPP. Within GroupM, all agencies have a share of the business – different agencies manage the Nestlé account locally. The global media team working on Nestlé is docked at Mindshare Worldwide but works across and supports all other GroupM networks involved on the business including but not limited to Mindshare, Mediacom, Wavemaker and Openmind (a standalone agency for Nestlé in the US/Canada). This makes this role uniquely a GroupM position and provides an opportunity to understand practices across the other agencies.
First established in 1997 Mindshare is WPP's first new company which since helped found GroupM, WPP's media investment management group. GroupM is the biggest media network in the UK with estimated gross billings of £2.9 billion. Mindshare operates in 133 offices across 82 countries.
