Finance Assistant

One Permanent Vacancy; 5 days per week (37.5 hours per week) *we’re happy to discuss hours and days with any successful applicant.

Based in Meriden, Coventry (near the NEC and Resorts World)

Please note we are working remotely at present, however, once government guidelines allow, we will be looking for staff to work onsite from our Covid secure offices.

Job/Team Purpose
A fast-paced, exciting role that sits within the Support Department, working collaboratively with the Finance Team (Accounts Assistant and Senior Finance Assistant) and client teams across the agency. A new, additional role to support the team with financial processing and transactions. Line managed by the Acting Finance Director.

Knowledge/Experience/Skills Needed
• Bookkeeping and double-entry a must
• Credit control and or purchase ledger desirable
• Intercompany accounting
• Audit experience
• An AAT/QBE qualification and or any accredited accountancy qualification (full or part qualified)
• People/relationship skills; an easy manner and the ability to inspire confidence, as well as trustworthiness
• Highly motivated with a proactive, ‘can do’ attitude
• Be able to work on own accord
• Ability to communicate at all levels; spoken, for working with colleagues, other hives (teams), and clients (as required); for producing clear written correspondence
• Diplomatic and approachable
• Diligent; for understanding processes, adapting to new ones and ensuring that processes are followed accurately
• Strong administration skills
• Strong organisation, methodical and prioritisation skills, ability to work to tight deadlines in a calm and professional manner
• Excellent ICT skills; Microsoft word, excel and systems-savvy

Role Responsibilities
• Supporting credit control function, ensuring cash is collected from clients in a timely manner
• Month end journal posting
• Balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis
• Ensure finance inbox is managed
• Process, prepare and reconcile accounts, accruals, prepayments, control, and treasury accounts
• Uploading financial data into various portals
• Populating financial reporting
• Processing information within relevant data protection laws
• Continuing professional development
• Providing systems access for users of finance systems
• Providing users with support and advice
• Filing statutory reporting on time
