ABOUT THE INSIGHT TEAM The EMEA Research Team’s responsibility covers the EMEA region and is central to UM International. We are responsible for delivery of our research and insight product within the agency, as well as incremental revenue through client-funded research projects. The department adds strategic value and supports key disciplines (channel planning, strategy, creative & investment) with the provision of research advice, support and best practice to the Mediabrands EMEA Hub Team. UM International is responsible for strategy, planning and investment across our portfolio of international clients, including Johnson & Johnson, Coca-Cola, American Express, Spotify, Accenture, Fitbit, Casumo and Honeywell. As well as working with the UM International EMEA Hub Team in London, the research team is also responsible for market development, support and training across the EMEA region. ABOUT THE ROLE We are currently looking for an EMEA Insight Executive to fill an important role within an expanding team. This represents an amazing opportunity to join a fast-paced dynamic team. You will be given lots of training, to use our tools and guide media planning, along with responsibility and opportunity to develop research and analytical skills, applying these to audience insight and media. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supporting the EMEA Insight Director and other team members in the development and delivery of proprietary research projects, including helping to write questionnaires, liaising with research fieldwork agencies, analysing data and charting presentations for international clients. Supporting and training on the agency’s bespoke audience and media planning tools. Analysis of industry data; e.g. TGI, comScore, social listening data, etc. The provision of audience profiles, behavioural insights and media recommendations using UM’s unique tools, such as The Moments Tool and Wave. Fielding research related questions/requests from colleagues, such as planners/buyers and the UM global network. Provision of reports/data for new business pitches and current client projects. Liaising with the EMEA markets in the course of multi-national research projects. Supporting an Insight Director and Insight Manager in the day-to-day running of the department. ABOUT YOU We are ideally looking for someone who is educated to graduate level, with a maths or social sciences-related qualification, or first jobber (either at a media owner, media agency or research company with media experience). A confident and proactive self-starter. Someone who enjoys a challenge and a team that work at pace across multiple diverse clients and insight projects, cultures and countries. The candidate should be someone who is looking for the opportunity to develop a career in the media industry and research in particular. Past experience of using SPSS software is strongly preferred. A knowledge and understanding of research and analysis systems such SPSS, Q, TGI, Nielsen Clear Decisions, Telmar, comScore, FocusVision, Sysomos or other social listening tools would be preferred, but is not required; as extensive training will be provided to all candidates. Highly numerate with good analytical ability. Our clients buy into our insights and data through our ability to articulate what is important. Articulate, good interpersonal skills, and willing to work flexibly within a dynamic and creative environment. Knowledge of international languages would be advantageous but is not essential.
