As New Business and Marketing Manager you will be in a hands on role covering all aspects of new business development and marketing; from prospecting and pitch management through to agency awareness and profile reputation, all with the ultimate goal of fuelling the agenda21 pipeline and maximising conversion rates to meet (and hopefully exceed) our annual new business revenue targets.
RFI, RFP and Pitch Management
Deliver high quality RFI and RFP responses that exceed client expectations
New Business Lead on pitches to ensure high quality responses and delivery against the win strategy
Ensure pitch action plans are delivered on time and to deadlines
Work closely with consultants, procurement and intermediaries throughout the pitch process
Oversee process for credentials, chemistry sessions and pitches, ensuring continuous development
Assist in contract and commercial conversations to close deals and transition new clients
Lead in soliciting post-pitch feedback to take learnings and actionable insights
Set the benchmark for quality and ensure quality control of all new business output
Work closely with pitch leaders to increase conversion, adding strategic value throughout pitches
Acts as a facilitator and enabler across the Be Heard Partnership, spotting opportunities, connecting people and capabilities to deliver the best possible solutions to client briefs
Budgets and Reporting
Full management of and responsibility for the new business and marketing budget
Responsibility for all new business reporting (pipeline, revenue, pitch performance and feedback)
Management of the Pipedrive system
Marketing and PR
Delivering a marketing plan aligned with prospecting to create opportunity for business development, focusing on core capabilities
Working closely with Managing Director to deliver agency proposition and develop relevant messaging to take to market
Own all outbound marketing collateral, ensure strong thought leadership and manage events
Lead awards programme, including co-creating entries, proof reading and meeting entry requirements
Manage external PR partner to delivery coverage with on key messaging aligned to agency proposition
Deliver a strategic business development plan to drive lead generation
Develop contact strategies and engaging prospecting material
Confident and targeted networking at key prospecting event
Lead initial contact with prospective clients and strict qualification of all new business enquiries
Aggregate opportunities across agency and support senior team in unlocking little black book contacts
Having and developing strong and proactive relationships with intermediaries, consultants and trade bodies is a must!
Ideally you’ll have the following skills and experience:
Significant commercial experience within a media, marketing or communications agency
Previous hands-on new business operations and agency marketing experience
Experience with Pipedrive (or other lead generation tools)
Strong and proactive relationships with intermediaries, consultants and trade bodies
Technical new business skills to understand and deliver against the hidden agenda of what it will take to win
Influencing and shaping responses – pushing the boundaries, always asking if this is the best we have and never be satisfied with ‘that will do’
Commercial acumen to assess new business opportunities and ensure we pursue profitable opportunities
Relationship building – able to create and sustain proactive relationships with intermediaries and create positive first impressions with all prospects and potential new business clients
Set the benchmark for high quality pitches and submissions, coaching others to achieve similarly high standards
Managing and leading people across the business, from senior to junior, peers and managing upwards
Passion for growth, a real sense of drive, enthusiasm and diplomacy
