We are looking for a Senior Front End Developer to work on a range of websites, CMS and web applications projects for midsize to enterprise clients including well known brands such as WaterAid, BAFTA, National Grid, National Youth Theatre, University of Central Lancashire, Stagecoach Bus and Wave Utilities.
The ideal candidate is a hands on professional, with experience of working in a team environment to develop solutions using frameworks or CMS platforms such as Drupal, Wordpress, Symfony and Laravel.
Primary Role & Responsibilities
Leading by example, you will support the Operations Director and Head of Development in driving and maintaining high standards of technical development, communication and behaviour across the team.
Delivering high quality solutions, focussed on helping clients achieve their goals.
Collaborating on Solution Architecture, design and UX to deliver usable, accessible and visually impactful results.
Contribute to the scoping and planning of project delivery.
Motivate, inspire and lead junior members and peers in your area of expertise.
Communicate technical solutions at an appropriate level, for mixed audiences, including clients
Senior Front End Developer qualifications and skills
4+ years on-the-job experience of commercial website or application development.
3+ years experience with version control systems (preferably Git) and team workflows.
Experience or knowledge of using advanced techniques and tools, such as; SASS, Twig, Gulp, Grunt, BEM, Atomic Design and Pattern Libraries.
Ability to produce and review high quality, clean code, with a focus on standards and accessibility
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Desirable qualifications and skills
A good Software Engineering, Computer Science Degree, or a relevant apprenticeship qualification.
Experience of theme development for Drupal, Wordpress or other CMS
Sketch, Illustrator or Photoshop experience to produce or update wireframes, mockups and prototypes
Knowledge or interest in decoupled or headless applications.
Understanding or experience of front end testing and automation tools
Broader experience (or the desire) of working with frameworks such as React, Gatsby and VueJS.
