The UK Advertising Export Group (UKAEG) and Creative Industries Council (CIC) are offering agencies a unique global networking opportunity during lockdown at Createch 2020 from 8-10 June.
During Createch, the UKAEG is hosting its first ever virtual trade mission, facilitating meetings between UK and Chinese advertising agencies, to help the UK creative industries make up for lost opportunities following cancellation of this year’s SXSW and Cannes festivals.
Held during Virtual CogX, which is expected to welcome more than 30,000 visitors from around the world, Createch 2020 features an ambitious programme of live streamed speakers and digital networking opportunities is set to connect tech pioneers from UK creative industries with international business audiences.
With participation from the Department for International Trade, and UKAEG, Createch and Virtual CogX provide a showcase for the UK creative industries to a global audience during a turbulent time for the global economy.
The three-day festival will also feature a virtual booth co-hosted by the UKAEG and the Shanghai International Advertising Festival (SHIAF) which will broadcast content to the Chinese market. The booth will also host a series of presentations during the festival, including:
Says Mike Bartley, Head of Creative Industries, Department for International Trade: "Joining the Virtual CogX platform has enabled Createch to present its biggest-ever programme and to demonstrate how technology and creative thinking can adapt business events and networking forums in the era of social distancing.
"With many of the usual international industry events disrupted this year because of the pandemic, Createch 2020 at Virtual CogX is set to be one of the key events for UK creative organisations to get their message out to an international audience this summer."
Janet Hull, IPA Director of Marketing Strategy & UKAEG Chair commented: "The UK is one of the world’s leading creative hubs, with a world-renowned reputation for the best creative talent, innovation and ideas. This opportunity with Createch and CogX allows our UKAEG members to demonstrate their credentials on an international stage and also ensure the UK’s global leadership position. The new virtual format also serves our interests in reaching a bigger audience."
Says Stephen Woodford, Chief Executive, Advertising Association: "As the UK advertising and marketing services industry looks to the future, Createch represents a great opportunity to showcase our expertise, engage with a global industry community and boost our exports.
"Innovation and adaptability have long been the hallmarks of the UK tech and creative industries sectors and it is great to see this event evolving its format to changing times, to remain as relevant and successful as ever. The UK Advertising Export Group is delighted to be involved in Createch 2020."
