Createch 2020 Digital Festival offers three days of inspiring talks

Createch 2020 will take place as part of the first ever Virtual CogX event from June 8-10.

An upbeat vision of how creativity and technology can converge to improve the way we connect, create and consume will be outlined by Createch 2020, at the first ever Virtual CogX event from June 8-10.

Createch, hosted by the Creative Industries Council (CIC), is joining CogX, the UK’s biggest Global Leadership Summit and Festival of AI and breakthrough technology, to offer its most ambitious programme.

It will include three days of video streams, a digital Expo of over 100 UK Createch businesses, and smart networking opportunities.

The Createch video stream on the Virtual CogX digital platform will present forward-thinking sessions featuring more than 50 formidable business leaders, entrepreneurs, and creatives.

Speakers will outline the benefits and challenges in combining human creativity with technologies such as extended reality and 5G. They will look at how Creative organisations have innovated in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and longer-term needs to adapt to climate change and develop new business models.

Financing experts and experienced investors will also set out how to raise funding for Createch projects, even in tough times.

Confirmed Createch at Virtual CogX speakers include:

  • Tim Davie, CEO, BBC Studios and Co-Chair, CIC
  • Nicola Mendelsohn CBE, VP EMEA, Facebook
  • Hideki Yoshimoto, designer
  • Harjot Singh, Chief Strategy Officer, UK & Europe, McCann World Group
  • Claire Enders, Founder, Enders Analysis
  • Beatie Wolfe, Pioneering Artist

The full schedule will be announced in coming weeks.

Between main sessions, a series of short creative films will keep audiences inspired and entertained.

As part of Createch 2020 at Virtual CogX, an innovative digital Expo will enable delegates to see content from and interact with leading organisations and over 100 pioneering Createch organisations and businesses from across the UK.

The Expo will showcase interactive booths from the Creative Industries Council and Createch 2020’s Associate Partners & Allies.

In addition, AI-driven software will match-make Virtual CogX delegates and invite them to network with fellow attendees.

The fully customisable Createch schedule will also archive content for later viewing, allowing attendees to prioritise their time on the platform and interact with others, without fear of missing main sessions.

Says, Janet Hull, CIC Createch Organiser and Director of Marketing Strategy, IPA: "Now in its fourth year, Createch is ready to take centre stage alongside FinTech and HealthTech to demonstrate its credentials to the wider UK economy, and ensure the UK’s global leadership position. The new all-digital format serves our interests in reaching a bigger, more international audience from the USA to China."

Says Esther Carder, Partner, Moore Kingston Smith: "The Createch space is attracting increasing interest from investors. We are delighted to participate in this new-look Createch programme to help businesses navigate the financing and business requirements to realise the sector’s full potential."

Says Jeremy Silver, CEO, Digital Catapult: "The combination of new creative and technology thinking could not be more necessary than today. Whilst corporations may wish to retrench and conserve cash, creative companies need 2to invest in innovation today in order to create the new propositions and business models that will sustain them.

We're looking forward hugely to the incredibly high standard of debate and fascinating discussion that is the hallmark of this event."

Createch – previously a stand-alone, one-day event – attracts a diverse and international audience of senior decision-makers, entrepreneurs, creatives, and technologists.

Over its three day event, Virtual CogX expects over 30,000 participants including 600+ speakers across 18 topic stages and 100+ interactive side events.

A limited number of free festival passes are still available using the code CREATECHTOPIC. Full three-day Virtual CogX tickets start at £295.
