The IPA has announced the 20 agencies and marketing services businesses that have been successful in their application for the IPA/DIT Advertising Mission to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, from 17-21 June 2019. They will receive funding towards attending the Festival to help them grow their businesses globally.

The opportunity to join the Mission was made available to any UK SME advertising or createch business with less than 250 employees, particularly those who would be first-timers to Cannes and that would benefit from being part of a Group Mission

Out of the 50 applicants, the successful 20 are:

  • 23red
  • Anything is possible
  • Ardmore
  • Chrome Productions
  • Digital Fairy
  • Good Loop
  • Hunterlodge
  • Impero
  • Jaywing
  • Keel
  • London Advertising
  • Playmob

The Mission forms part of the wider ‘Creativity Is GREAT’ campaign to reinforce the status of the UK as a centre of advertising excellence pre and post Brexit on the world stage. It will involve a packed schedule of networking opportunities, attendance at official and fringe events, and – in partnership with the China Advertising Association – meetings and speaking opportunities with Chinese agencies, media and brand owners.

Says Janet Hull OBE, Chair of Promote UK and Director of Marketing Strategy, IPA: “As the accredited DIT Trade Challenge Partner for advertising and marketing services we are in the unique position to facilitate this opportunity for agencies seeking to accelerate their international profile and provide access to both UK and global networks.”

In addition to organising meetings and events for the delegation, the IPA will be taking part in other sessions throughout the week, including the AA’s Public Trust in Advertising event, and the Crisis in Creative Effectiveness event with the FT and Peter Field on the Warc stage at the Palais. New IPA President Nigel Vaz will be in discussion with 4A’s President and CEO Marla Kaplowitz at an FT lunch. The IPA will also be talking about the best of Createch and will be hosting an Effectiveness Roundtable on the Thursday.
