How to enter Student Advertising Awards

The IPA are calling on students across Scotland to demonstrate their creativity for the chance to win a paid internship at one of Scotland’s top advertising agencies.

Applicants will be asked to create an advertising campaign for Scottish arts-in-health charity Hearts & Minds. They will need to create a two-minute video showcasing their creative idea, media strategy and any research that helped shape the planning; alongside a 50-word summary to support the video submission.

The IPA Scotland Student Advertising Awards are open to any penultimate or final year student enrolled on a full-time or part-time course at any university or college in Scotland.

James Pais, IPA Scotland Chair and Creative Services Director at Frame, says; “Student Awards are special because they give us our first glimpses of the next emerging talent in our industry. The IPA Scotland Student Advertising Awards is into its third year and the quality of the previous submissions has been exceptional. I am really looking forward to the 2018 Awards and especially looking forward to meeting the next generation of UK advertising stars.”

Hearts & Minds General Manager Michelle Armstrong says; “We are delighted to have been chosen as this year’s partner for the IPA Scotland Student Advertising Awards. The previous year’s awards have seen some amazing entries and we are very excited to see how the students interpret this year’s brief.”

Hearts & Minds’ mission is to maximise opportunities for all vulnerable people, those affected by ill health and those who are thought of as ‘hard to reach’, by positively transforming care environments across Scotland, through the performing arts. Their philosophy is to always look beyond the illness and ability of the person, to their individual psychological and emotional needs, thereby helping to overcome challenges such as stress, pain, frustration, loss of control and grief.
