IPA summarises Government consultation on HFSS ad restrictions

Following the launch of the Government’s consultation into HFSS advertising restrictions this week, the IPA has prepared a summary just of the Government’s proposed options in respect of both broadcast and online media.

The options for online, in particular, are unsurprisingly complicated, with timing restrictions online bound to create difficulties.

The consultation also contains 40 questions for respondents, with a further set of questions contained in the accompanying 135-page impact assessment (which we have not summarised).

The IPA will be working with the Advertising Association to ensure a consistent industry approach and will be approaching our agencies with a view to forming a small IPA working group to assist with our own response.
