A record 1200 junior adlanders sat the IPA Foundation Certificate in 12 locations across the UK on Monday (27th February 2017). Since its launch in 2003, over eleven thousand people have sat the exam.
The Foundation Certificate is the industry’s key entry-level qualification for anyone working in the industry, regardless of discipline, that provides them with the knowledge to perform their roles with confidence and expertise. It involves the completion of an online learning programme, taking participants through the entire brand communications process, followed by an offline exam. This year’s delegates will find out their results in May.
It will also be taken internationally with delegates signed up in Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, The Middle East and USA.
Says Patrick Mills, Director of Professional Development, IPA, “On 27th February 1200 new starters in the industry sat the IPA Foundation Certificate exam across the UK. They were predominantly from IPA member agencies, but also from client companies, universities, management consultancies and other industry bodies like the Advertising Association. It is fabulous to see numbers grow year on year again and to see other industries embracing IPA learning – clearly a reflection of the importance of this qualification in kick starting careers. I wish all of the candidates best of luck with their results.”
