Nearly 1,200 junior adlanders from 150 companies sat yesterday’s IPA Foundation Certificate exam in a record 14 locations nationwide.
The qualification, which has been completely re-developed to reflect the full and complex scope of the media landscape in the digital era, is the key entry-level qualification for anyone working in advertising for brands and agencies.
The IPA’s Director of Membership and Professional Development, Patrick Mills commented on this year’s exam: “The Foundation Certificate is the essential way to kick-start your career in advertising so it is fantastic to see the numbers of candidates – from all sides of the industry including Facebook and ASOS - continuing to grow. All those that have taken the exam have given themselves the best possible start to a long and successful career in the industry – good luck for results day.”
Successful candidates will earn two of the five stars required to become accredited personal members of the IPA (MIPA), and will have the opportunity to celebrate at a Graduation Party in the summer, coinciding with a series of adverts in trade press celebrating their achievements.
The redeveloped Foundation Certificate pilots have also rolled out across Europe, Australia and MENA in partnership with EACA, TCC and Ampersand.
