In this session we will hear from Visible Start, a successful initiative that champions inclusivity for mid-life women within their Media Agencies. With a practical session from Hobbs Consultancy on how to avoid ageism in your workplace culture, and a series of inspiring talks from Kate Bruges on the value of wisdom in commercial creativity and Mark Denton on becoming an intern at 65.
We have a great line up of speakers for our training forum session taking place this Summer, where we will be looking at how to recognise and combat ageism in the industry.

WPP are excited to showcase the Visible Start Programme, a successful initiative that champions inclusivity for mid-life women within their Media Agencies. This free training programme, launched by WPP, Brixton Finishing School, and the Uninvisibility Project, provides a gateway into ad land at all levels of the business and aims to change the narrative of midlife women in advertising and media.
11.00am - Kate Bruges
A decade ago Kate spoke about the value of wisdom in commercial creativity and the invisibility of the 50+ in the UK advertising industry, particularly women. Kate will review the state of play today and share her own experiences, transitioning to a new career, lessons learnt and practical ways to improve opportunities for older talent.

11.45am - Hobbs Consultancy Workshop - Overcoming Ageism to Support Cross-Generational Collaboration'
In this one-hour workshop we will explore why a multi-generational workforce is good for business and will discuss some biases and myths around different generations that might be getting in the way of that. We will finish with some practical considerations you or your organisation can take to avoid ageism in your workplace culture such as: reverse mentoring, life stage benefits, application tools, apprenticeships at any age, returner courses and menopause policies.
