How to successfully navigate change

Learn how to guide your teams and yourself through periods of change. In this session with workplace trainer Carol Hickson, we consider the psychology behind change and some of the reasons why people can be resistant.

The well-known phrases 'change is hard' and 'nobody likes change' emphasize the fact that people can be resistant to change. In this session, we consider the psychology behind change and some of the reasons why people can be resistant.

We discuss the transition period and how to navigate it to achieve successful change. Finally, we look at the responsibilities of both those steering the changes, and the individual, to ensure positive progress and successful resolution. The desired takeaway from this session is that everybody understands the process of change and feels more equipped to guide their teams.

Carol Hickson

Carol is a workplace trainer delivering her own courses on a variety of topics including mental health and resilience, better communication, emotional intelligence for managers, women’s health, men’s health and transitioning through change. She is a multi-disciplined therapist and life coach working with companies to reduce psychological risk in the workplace. In addition to training, she also, writes mental health strategies for businesses, provides employee coaching or therapy drop-in sessions, and provides mental health evaluations or stress MOTs for employees.
She has written two books, The Resilience Template – 7 Steps to Improve Your Mental Health and, for children, Beeston the Anxious Pup.
