What does a Client Services Account Executive do at M.i. Media?

An Account Executive will be a key support to the team in servicing a client’s business. They will be starting to develop client relationships while progressing their knowledge of core offline media channels, including TV, Radio, Outdoor and Print, in addition to other areas which impact the effectiveness of a client’s marketing effectiveness.
M.i. Media is a cross-channel agency offering clients a range of services and as such an Account Executive would be expected to immerse themselves in a client’s business and sector and grow their ability to consult across different areas such as media, tracking and data.

What experience and skills are required?
An Account Executive should be ready to take on a bit of everything and have a ‘can do’ attitude. It’s all about learning the media ropes, absorbing new skills and working with the team to make our client’s business very successful.
As part of this role the Account Executive will learn:
Planning
• To understand and interpret a client media brief
• To put together media plans utilising insight from the client’s data and/or research
• To recommend relevant tests and opportunities which may be appropriate for your client’s objectives
• To forecast results against the client’s business KPIs
• To start to offer advice on best practice creative and tracking set up to measure and fulfil targets
Implementation
• To ensure that the relevant data is made available to measure the effectiveness of a campaign
• To build media negotiation skills, making sure to challenge existing rates and seeking the best value for the client at all times
• To manage the delivery of the campaign from making sure activity appears on time, to the value booked being delivered
Reporting
• To deliver regular reporting to your clients, working with different tools to extract quality insight and providing detailed recommendations for campaign optimisations
• To deliver the relevant analysis of specific channels, working with different sized data sets from various sources and incorporating insight beyond that of linear findings
Relationships
• To start to build relationships with your clients, growing confidence liaising with them on day to day account matters and earning their trust through delivering prompt, high quality work
• To grow relationships with buying partners, working with them to deliver smooth outcomes for clients
• To start to raise your profile in the agency by getting involved, from offering to help on a new business pitch to coming up with ideas for the next team social!
What systems and software skills are required?
We would expect an Account Executive to have some experience of:
• MS software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
It would be beneficial, but not essential, for an Account Executive to have had some exposure to other media-related tools such as Ad Dynamix, DDS and TV attribution tools such as TVSquared or Adalyser.
