The IPA has welcomed this week's (13 February) appointment of Oliver Dowden as the new Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
“We very much welcome the appointment of Oliver Dowden as the new Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. We hope we can look forward to a period of stability in the department and to working with the Secretary of State to assert and drive the value of the creative industries in a post-Brexit economy.
“We are also keen to share our agency stance on the complex online media space with him, particularly with regard to the microtargeting of political ads online. I will be writing to Mr Dowden in due course to arrange a meeting to discuss these matters, and more, in detail.”
