Narrative Communications’ MD Kieron Goldsborough has been appointed as the new IPA City Head for Newcastle and the North East. His position was confirmed at the IPA’s Annual Evening Event in Newcastle last night (4 March).
In his role, Kieron will serve as a figurehead for the industry in the North East championing and engaging the outstanding talent in the advertising community and providing a voice for IPA members in the area.
He will also work closely with IPA Chair for England & Wales, Michelle Wright on wider industry issues; IPA initiatives and encouraging agencies to embrace the benefits of continuous professional development.
Commenting on the appointment, Patrick Mills, Director of Membership & Professional Development, IPA said: “I’m delighted that Kieron has agreed to be our new City Head for Newcastle and the North East. It’s vital for us to ensure that we understand the issues and concerns affecting our members around the country, and Kieron will play an important role in helping meet the needs of our members in the North East.”
Says Kieron Goldsborough, MD, Narrative: “I’m thrilled to be appointed as the new IPA City Head for Newcastle and the North East. This is a fantastic opportunity to champion the vibrant creative community in the region and shout about not only our collective achievements, but the impact of this work, both economically and socially.
“Championing professionalism in advertising and marketing is a key focus for us at Narrative, and combining that with the IPA’s passion for instilling confidence in the next generation of creative leaders I am confident that we will be able to make some great progress together.”
Kieron succeeds Drummond Central’s Dan Appleby who has served in the role for three years.
Kieron is an entrepreneurial leader with 20 years’ experience in marketing communications. Starting his career as a designer in an in-house role, Kieron quickly moved agency side, before spending ten years in design and management roles within Trinity Mirror North East.
In 2011, Kieron became Creative Director at Press Ahead, where the Narrative story began, and since then has worked with a number of large blue-chip clients as well as a series of dynamic start-ups. Having moved into position as Managing Director at Narrative, Kieron continues to work in a hands-on fashion across all of our accounts. Besides championing the power of marketing, Kieron is a big supporter of up and coming talent. To this end, he is a board member for the Northern School of Art, involved with supporting and mentoring aspiring young designers who are looking to find their place and style.
