Matthew Waksman

Head of Strategy, Droga5 London

Matthew Waksman is Head of Strategy at Droga5 UK. He is himself an IPA award gold winner for his government work reversing a ten-year decline in recruitment for The British Army. He led the strategy for the IPA 10x task force to support the British Hospitality Industry post-covid, which went on to win a Marketing Society award.  His varied commercial experience includes leading work for breakthrough brands like Lucky Saint, global iconic brands such as Jameson Whiskey, Coca-Cola, Google Pixel, and Absolut Vodka and well-loved British brands including Dulux paint, Kettle Chips, and Costa Coffee. He is a guest lecturer at Kings College London for the MA in Strategic Communications and he teaches Brief Writing for the APG. His strategic flavour of thinking is influenced by being at the forefront of shaping culture IRL, running a major club night in London for over 10 years and more recently through helping Classical Music reach new audiences with Classical Pride.
