I completed my 6 month BIMA (British Interactive Media Association) mentoring programme and I'd just like to say "thank you". I highly recommend it to anyone who gets the opportunity to get involved.
BIMA paired me up with a great mentor who has lots of fantastic experience to draw from, was easy to talk to, empathetic and gave great practical advice (as well as being a lovely person). From documenting my progress across the six sessions and following our final 'reflection' chat today, I feel so much has been achieved. I do believe having the structure of the mentoring course behind me has helped drive the progress at a timely point in my career.
Don't underestimate the power of having a neutral sounding board to help gain clarity on a career path, set goals, get advice on tackling challenges, identifying training needs or just taking time to help recognise your skills and achievements. It's a really rewarding process.
