Patrick Kane

Patrick Kane is an author, public speaker and New Business Director at Leo UK. He became a triple amputee after contracting sepsis when he was 9 months old and became the youngest person in the world to be fitted with a bionic arm in 2010. Patrick holds a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Edinburgh, but his passion for storytelling and how ideas are effectively communicated meant that he found his calling in the advertising industry.
Starting his career at Wunderman Thompson (now VML) as a member of their prestigious Catalyst Academy, he was named on the IPA iList in 2022 within his first year in advertising and he was recognised on the 2025 BD100 as one of the top business developers in the industry. His first book, Human 2.0, is a celebration of human bionics and was named by The Times as one of 2023's best books for children. In 2024, it was the winner of the Information Book Award by the School Library Association and is now available in the UK, USA, France and South Korea.
