Media Planning Account Manager

Job description

The department is split into 7 different teams and they are all responsible for the planning of OOH solutions on behalf of all of Kinetics’ agencies and clients. Planning Account Managers are integral team members who oversee a number of accounts, planning campaigns for clients/agencies in their team and developing good relationships with media owners. You will work closely with the trading department plus other divisions within Kinetic, such as the Active Team, Research, Data and Insights departments.

Key responsibilities of the role:
• Develop basic OOH solutions for clients/agencies as experience grows
• Develop an understanding of client's sector
• Effectively communicate with other Kinetic markets and work with them on client cross-market requests
• Work with different currencies to ensure the client’s budget is planned and invoiced correctly
• Collate production requirements
• Co-ordinate campaign photography and sharing with clients
• Undertake competitive analysis and post-campaign analysis
• Compile production reports
• Prepare site tour documents and logistics of site tours
• Identify and appropriately raises client issues
• Update internal databases
• Demonstrate use of industry and Kinetic planning tools and following 4D planning process
• Collate information from vendors, updating market reports and availability
• Develop knowledge of vendor activity, building relationships with Media Owners
• Begin to develop strong relationships and networks throughout Kinetic
• Get involved in the wider Kinetic initiatives - helping with training, forums, agency initiatives (Green Team, Team Roots, Team Pride, Team Enable, Mental Health Allies) and events

We think you’d enjoy this role if you are:
• Someone who has a good understanding of media (essential) and OOH (ideally)
• Someone who has demonstrable success in a media planning environment including 2 years at an Account Exec level
• Someone who develops positive, productive, respectful relationships with colleagues (internal) and clients (external)
• Someone who has strong organisational skills and attention to detail, follows process and instruction well but can consider the wider picture too, as well as excellent at multi-tasking
• Someone who has good numeracy, can manage budgets and is sensitive to wider commercial implications
• Someone who is keen to grow and learn, to benefit from training in a breadth of areas led by Kinetic, GroupM, WPP and external providers
• Someone who is confident, engaging, positive and alive to possibilities; is articulate with good written and listening skills too

We’d really like it if you had:
• GCSEs – to include English and Maths (A to C), A-Levels or equivalent standard and a university degree
• Good understanding and use of MS Office /Windows – Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Confidence to use internal technical tools – pick up new technology and systems well and adapt to change (digital/technical skills)
• Excellent understanding of social media and internet
