About the role
This central role in the Membership Team is focused on helping to build the IPA corporate and personal memberships by retaining and recruiting members in both categories. It involves working especially closely with the Heads of New Business and Member Services and requires a detail-focused, proactive mindset, and excellent communication, inter-personal and administrative skills.
Key responsibilities
Recruitment of new members:
- Work alongside the Head of New Business in recruiting agencies to join corporate membership as well as the Accelerator scheme for start-ups and small agencies that do not meet the income threshold for membership.
- And with the recruitment of individuals for personal membership (Accredited MIPA) and the Associate scheme.
- Help with the efficient administration of applications, as well as with the planning, organisation and marketing of ad hoc recruitment events and initiatives.
Retention of existing members:
- Work with the Head of Member Services to help members to get the most from the IPA through using the services and benefits on offer.
- Help arrange the annual programme of visits to member agencies, as well as events such as city lunches for agency leaders around the UK and evening receptions.
- Help with the production and updating of key marketing materials, including the PPT presentation of membership services and benefits and the annual bespoke Membership Reports.
Administrative responsibilities:
- Help with the running of the Membership Committee, including its meetings (agendas, minutes, etc.) and ad hoc initiatives.
- Help to manage the network and meetings of the team of Chairs and City Heads in member agencies around the UK.
- Oversee other regular membership team activities, such as the production and distribution of the annual membership certificates and the organisation of the team’s weekly status meetings.
- Ensure accurate and efficient updating of key information on members on CRM.
- Manage the [email protected] email inbox.
- Help to keep the member agency profile pages on the IPA website up to date, working alongside the IPA web team.
- Assist with the Membership Team’s collaboration with the Finance Team on the annual subscription credit control process.
Key requirements:
- Excellent – and proven – organisational, administrative and project management skills, with a keen eye for detail, quality control and accuracy.
- Good verbal and written communication abilities, and confidence in dealing with people of varying levels of seniority.
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset.
- Understanding and ideally experience of CRM.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office programmes (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Interest in and knowledge of the advertising industry would be an advantage.
