The agency now has a growing roster of quality clients, and now we need a brilliant implementational planning lead, to drive excellence and innovation in the way we bring strategy, ideas and plans to life in channels at a granular, progressive level. We’re looking for someone who has proven experience particularly across social and digital planning, and across brand / brand response, and with some experience of performance media, or connecting into performance.
As the implementational planning lead, you’d be responsible for the quality, innovation and rigor of the channel plans; both vertically and horizontally.
1. Working with strategy team to help move the strategic audiences, tasks and ideas, into implementational approaches, channel tactics and plans.
Co-author/develop the channel principles
Bring audience channel behaviour and usage insights to bear on the planning
Own the channel KPIs that ladder up to the campaign objectives
2. Core Planning fundamentals: forensic knowledge of social and digital channels and how to deliver rigorous plans that connect the eco-system effectively
Set and allocate budgets; in total and by channel
Develop scenarios with credible, well informed recommendation rationales for phasing, flighting, effective weights and frequency
Depth of channel planning expertise is a must across all social platforms, YouTube and pre roll, digital display
Recommendations on platform products and formats and the required assets and messaging to deliver the most effective plans.
Establishing or developing internal processes, methodologies and systems, so we run the agency in a tight and organized way
Establishing or developing our relationships with media owners, so we are well set to get the most of our partners, both for strategy, and planning / buying
3. Training & development: lead and develop your team, providing training, support and mentoring so they reach their potential
We need our team of young planners to be learning from the best; developing the team and setting high standards and expectations is a key part of this role.
Knowledge of the right industry and media owner training courses for teams to attend
Broad & deep knowledge of the UK media landscape
First rate media planning skills and a good knowledge of marketing theory and best practice
Good knowledge of other marketing disciplines beyond paid media, and how it all fits together for marketing clients
A solid contacts book of media owners
Top notch communication skills (verbal and written) with natural gravitas
A proven track record in training and developing a team
People recognise you as a team player, with the ability to work across the wider teams and foster collaboration and new ways of working
Creative thinking and problem solver with a passion for the industry and for media planning
You are a doer and take pride in getting stuck in. You’re all about the detail
You have good knowledge of media measurement techniques / media effectiveness research techniques
