Job description

We are seeking an experienced Sales and Marketing Manager who will have senior-level responsibilities, overseeing Across the Pond’s sales and marketing strategy and activities. As the Sales and Marketing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our client base, increasing revenue, and enhancing our brand visibility.

The role requires someone to be very self-driven, who is happy to work independently, and with agency’s global senior team. This role is a first hire in a new department so the candidate should be someone who is both confident, and keen to build their own sales and marketing strategy having already done so in other SMBs/ B2B companies.

The role involves creating and implementing a system for generating leads and propelling them through a new sales funnel - you will manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing. Although based in London, the Sales and Marketing Manager will develop and steer overall strategy and major planning for the global business (we have offices in London, San Francisco and Singapore).

The Sales and Marketing Manager’s objective is to develop a strategic vision for the department. They will establish and nurture valuable relationships with stakeholders and partners. They will use their expertise in procedures and policies to expand the agency profile, feed the pipeline with great leads, supply Account Directors with content to engage their clients, and help drive conversions.


KEY SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop an overall sales and marketing strategy.

Including (not limited to):
Work on identifying target customers/ expanding on existing buyer persona information.
Deeply understanding the Across the Pond brand, voice, positioning and services.
Developing the use of marketing tools and proposing improvements to our systems with wide industry knowledge.
Setting long and short-term goals, with accountability and measuring structures.
Working closely with company leaders to align strategies with corporate goals and values.
Departmental budgeting, working with agency leaders to establish financial needs of the department and be ultimately responsible for tracking and reporting on that.
Creating timelines, setting deadlines and securing other resources as needed (eg building/ commissioning assets, finding internal and external personnel support as needed).
Providing leadership for both sales and marketing activities across the global agency - including establishing policies, determining workflows, assigning tasks, answering questions, responding to concerns and ensuring compliance across departments.

Conduct market research
Including (not limited to):
Investigating client needs, locating unserved or underserved market segments, monitoring industry trends and looking into competitor activities.
Responsible for conducting market research and using it to create more effective strategies.

Plan and manage marketing campaigns
Review the benefits of different marketing activities and determine which ones would be most effective for Across the Pond.
Plan campaigns (timeline, platforms, content).
Execute campaigns (eg organic social, online paid media, e-marketing/CRM).

ATP brand assets
Be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the agency’s brand assets (eg sales collateral such as decks, case studies, also the website, and assets needed for client presentations).

Monitor Marketing and Sales success
Design and implement strong data collection techniques to measure the success of sales and marketing operations (eg market penetration, year-over-year growth, customer lifetime value, conversion rate, cost of sale win rate, engagement rates, customer acquisition cost, retention rate and ROI).

General roles and responsibilities:
Acting as a link between sales/marketing and company management.
Recruiting and training staff members when the department grows.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
Helping instil best sales practice into client-facing team


ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related business discipline.
5 years minimum in Sales and Marketing.
Extensive background in Sales and/or business development.
Experience in SMBs and/or B2B companies.
Strong understanding of creative services/ advertising and marketing agencies - and the ability to communicate the value of this work effectively.
Proven ability to design and execute sales programs and systems.
Highly experienced with CRM, ideally Hubspot.
