Strategist/Planner

Job description

We are looking for another brilliant mind to join our lovely psLondon team, based primarily in London N1, as Strategist/Planner.

Duties & Responsibilities
Seeking: word lovers, idea seekers, information consumers, research apostles, make it happeners, strategic thinkers, incognito creatives, planning aficionados, comfort-zone pushers.

Skillset & experience

  • At least four years’ demonstrable experience of marketing strategy, insight and planning from either an Agency or Client perspective.
  • Experience in research, data analytics and statistical analysis
  • Thinks critically and strategically to set direction and guide innovation in our work.
  • Ideally with some B2B experience under your belt.
  • A keen eye for detail and passion for keeping things running smoothly and well organised.
  • Proficiency supporting on research efforts and working with a primary research agency.
  • Ability to review vast amounts of research, synthesize and draw relevant conclusions.
  • An understanding of and curiosity for brand building and positioning as well as
    knowledge of tracking and monitoring brands in the market.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging digital channels and their likely effectiveness.
  • Comfortable producing cohesive and intelligent plans to bring success to campaign work
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas, both verbally and in writing to an exceptionally high standard.
  • Demonstrates ability to be both strategic and tactical.
  • Ability to craft and present a compelling narrative or story.
  • Contributes to knowledge sharing by writing thought pieces or attending conferences.
  • Comfortable working on their own, and as part of the team.

You will become a key part of our growing Strategy team, reporting directly to our Head of Insights & Strategy and focused on gathering and interrogating deep market knowledge, and using statistical thinking and data analysis to input into our award-winning creative and strategic outputs.
You’ll have a strong background in strategy, allowing you to hit the ground running and both support on and deliver strategic client work, including in the creation of workshops, writing and futurethinking™ research and planning decks and putting integrity into our creative briefs through brilliantly crafted propositions.
You’ll be comfortable with research and keen to get into the detail for our clients, with the ability to join disparate dots and distil information into a strategy that is concise and effective.
You’ll also explore and research new territory as we gain clients in different market spaces or help our existing clients to reposition. You’ll have access to a bunch of research tools to gather insight, turning this into useful, meaningful knowledge for our clients and the wider team. And you’ll use that insight to craft thought leadership and opinion pieces that help to boost the profile of the psLondon brand!
You’ll be able to think tactically and strategically, you will be confident and able to present your ideas with weight and influence, open to facilitating focus groups and client workshops and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.
You’ll be given the opportunity to get involved in shaping creative ideas with our award-winning creative department, and will be able to write both strategic content and dabble in copywriting for creative briefs and mock ads (and if you can get one of your strategy-person ads all the way through to development, you’ll be praised as a unicorn!).
Your knowledge digital channels means that you’ll share your insight into how creative and strategic ideas translate across existing and emerging digital channels, plus you’ll help measure effectiveness across on and offline activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor level degree in marketing, communications, business planning or similar
  • Marketing & planning short courses are an advantage.
