The Global Ad Net Zero Essentials Certificate is a new qualification to help people working in the advertising and marketing services industries understand the climate crisis and the actions to achieve net zero emissions from the development, production and media placement of advertising.

This qualification aims to empower individuals with the knowledge and practical skills to become genuine agents of change and positive action.

Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is for anyone in the industry who wants to learn more about how to work in a more sustainable way and wants to be part of the change required by the sector in this critical decade for climate action.

Encouraging completion of this course demonstrates a company’s commitment to action on the climate crisis, as well as ensuring employees have an up-to-date understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing our industry on the path to net zero.

The course also aims to drive dialogue with agencies and clients alike to embed sustainable goals in campaigns across the industry.

Ad Net Zero Essentials Certificate online learning devised by Ad Net Zero.

How is the qualification delivered and assessed?

  • Ten hours of online learning accessible through the IPA website on any device.
  • Learning devised by Ad Net Zero, the advertising industry’s initiative to help advertising respond to the climate crisis caused by CO2 emissions, headed by the Advertising Association, ISBA and the IPA.
  • Culminates in an online 30-minute multiple choice exam.
  • A digital certificate of completion and 1 MIPA star towards personal accreditation is awarded to all delegates who successfully pass the exam.

How do you book onto and access the qualification?

To access, please head to your personal IPA portal via the profile icon and click on ‘Learning’. Or, visit your personal learning page.
