IPA Career Clinic

One-to-one session with a career coach after leaving an agency

This free initiative from the IPA offers mid-senior practitioners from advertising and media agencies a confidential, one-to-one session with a career coach after leaving an agency.

These focused, one-hour sessions are designed to help people think clearly about next steps in the short term, while also taking a longer-term view of their career.

The session helps people step back from immediate pressure, make better decisions about what to pursue (and what not to), and develop clearer ways of talking about their experience, skills and value.  Each session includes practical tools and exercises that participants can continue to use beyond the day.

In addition, the IPA will be creating a pack of useful tools for a wider audience, which will be available for download from their website.

Who is it for?

Mid-senior practitioners from advertising and media agencies who are looking to return to the industry, with a minimum of 3 years' previous experience working in an agency.

Timings and location

The one-hour sessions will take place on Wednesday, 4 March 2026, either at the IPA in London or online if preferred. You’ll be allocated a one-hour slot for your session and we’ll confirm this timing by email separately. We’re not able to take requests for specific times, so please ensure you are available all day on Wednesday, 4 March.

Your coach: Lucy Goode

Sessions are delivered by Lucy Goode. Lucy has 25 years in agency leadership roles and has now retrained as a business psychologist and executive coach. Before retraining, Lucy worked as a headhunter specialising in senior agency and marketing roles, giving  her first-hand insight into how senior hires are assessed, positioned and appointed.
