Job description
Overall Purpose:
As AV Account Manager, you’re responsible for the day to day management and delivery of best-in-class performance for your clients, supporting the AV team in the nurturing of junior talent and driving value across the agency and your accounts. This opportunity will also provide exposure to buying across international markets (a plus if you’ve already bought in European markets).
You are experienced in linear and BVOD planning and buying as a min. (radio, digital audio and cinema are advantageous), and have a curiosity for how the industry is evolving, and how this can make the media buying we deliver for our clients more interesting. You understand brand and performance all ladder up to the same objective and can each deliver results, particularly when they’re integrated. You ensure you consider measurement and impact, for every plan you curate.
You’re capable of forming strong relationships, especially with key media owners (ITV, Ch4, SKY, Netflix, Amazon, Disney+ etc…) to understand the market and negotiate the best value for your clients.
You enjoy communicating with clients and are able to manage deadlines to ensure activity can launch on time, when within our control e.g. notifying of creative and booking deadlines, supporting on Clearcast approval (when required) and proactively reminding when these are creeping up if booking/creative delivery hasn’t been confirmed.
You’re not tied to “what’s been and done” in the industry and open to challenging new ways of working. You’re excited to learn new skills you haven’t been exposed to yet (if you haven’t) such as programmatic buying of AV media across DSPs such as The Trade Desk, Amazon and DV360. Experience in programmatic buying isn’t essential, training will be provided as we’ve been accelerating our buyers into the programmatic space (we see programmatic as a method of buying, not a channel in itself).
Additionally, and most importantly, we want your ideas! Everyone’s contributions are welcome when it comes to planning campaigns for our clients, or proactively suggesting new possibilities for them.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Ideally 3+ years of AV planning and buying experience within a media agency or broadcaster, with a proven track record managing successful campaigns across Linear TV and BVOD as a minimum.
- Hands-on experience in AV planning and buying, including campaign delivery and post-analysis across major UK media owners and platforms (Sky, ITV, Channel 4, Amazon Prime, Global, Bauer, Pearl & Dean etc.).
- Ability to develop test & learn frameworks to continually improve channel performance — spanning areas such as creative optimisation, cross-channel measurement and station mix optimisations.
- Strong knowledge of AV systems and tools such as Caria, TechEdge, Adwanted (formerly DEN), and industry research sources (BARB, RAJAR, Thinkbox, Touchpoints).
- Good understanding of AV trading principles, pricing models and measurement approaches.
- Manage media investment and accounting, ensuring billing hygiene and effective revenue management across all AV activity.
- Experience in building strong relationships – both internally with planning, digital and creative teams, and externally with clients and media partners.
- Highly collaborative, organised and detail-orientated – able to manage multiple campaigns, partners and stakeholders simultaneously without losing sight of quality or precision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proactive and positive approach to problem solving and teamwork.
Ideal Skills & Experience (but not essential):
- Planning and buying experience within a media agency or broadcaster across CTV, Radio, and Cinema.
- Demonstrated understanding of cross-channel video and audio ecosystems, including CTV and digital audio environments, with an ability to integrate these channels within holistic media strategies.
- Confident in building clear, compelling client presentations – able to simplify media concepts and present recommendations to stakeholders.
- Experience activating and managing programmatic AV campaigns across DSPs such as The Trade Desk, Amazon or DV360.
- Up to date with the latest AV industry developments and innovations – from addressable TV and programmatic audio to new audience measurement frameworks – and able to identify opportunities to test and implement them across clients.
- Motivated by the opportunity to own and evolve your own patch of clients and their AV campaigns.
- Experience managing, with examples of coaching and developing junior team members both technically and personally.
- Have an understanding of digital and data-driven disciplines beyond AV, with an interest in how channels integrate to deliver holistic communication strategies.
Core Competencies:
- Stakeholder Management: Prioritises workloads to meet deadlines and provides proactive progress updates, escalating KPI and delivery issues early.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience planning, buying, and negotiating Linear, BVOD, and SVOD across key AV systems (TechEdge, Caria, Adwanted) while adhering to broadcast regulations (HFSS, gambling).
- Finance Management: Tracks actual spend against budgets to prevent misallocation and ensures high numerical accuracy across media plans, invoicing, and reconciliation (Mediaocean/Prisma).
- People Influencing & Leadership: Actively contributes in meetings, shares key channel updates, and builds strong collaborative relationships across internal teams.
- Agency Development: Nurtures media owner relationships, champions the agency’s Total Video Proposition, and actively engages in wider agency initiatives.
- Business Development: Supports responses to briefs with clear media plans to drive client sign-off while maintaining strict NDA compliance.
- Effective Communication: Articulates ideas clearly, actively takes on feedback, and keeps account leads informed of personal and campaign progress.

The Agency
Bicycle was founded by four people in 2021 because they believed that a better type of agency was not only possible but needed.
We are 100% independent, with no external investment whatsoever and proudly offer a full-service media and creative solution with fully global capabilities. We’re built on the power of ‘And’: creative & media, brand & performance, art & science, data & creativity, man & machine.
From the outset we believed that our industry had become beset with silos and legacy driven behaviour and have purposely evolved the agency to operate across brand and performance media, creative strategy and creative production - all of which are delivered under our proposition of ‘the power of And’.
Profitable since day one, we are now 50 strong and one of the fastest-growing agencies in the world. Our clients include Papa John’s, Livescore, Carwow, Virgin, OFX, Sarson’s, Mischon de Reya, Warner Hotels, CVH Spirits, Tate & Lyle, Royal British Legion, Branston Pickle, Movember, Moju, Zooplus, Abellio and Estrid.
We are continuing to grow and are proud to have been awarded B-Corp and London Living Wage status, and shortlisted for The Drum’s Best Places to Work. We have also been accredited with the People First Promise badge in recognition of our commitment to our people and their mental well-being.
We were named one of Campaign’s 2025 Agencies To Watch and shortlisted for Campaign’s Start-up of the Year Award.
We also received an excellent score of 8/9 in Campaign’s 2025 School Reports, which ranks agencies based on their growth, income, client wins, diversity credentials and quality of work.
Development is core to our growth and is evidenced by us being accredited IPA CPD Gold status in 2023, 2024 and 2025. We are home to smart people who want to create incredible work on interesting brands.
