It’s very important for us to have a happy culture where people are actually enjoying what they do and not just grinding day in day out.

Profile

Founded by two senior client-side marketers with no agency experience, WeDiscover is a performance marketing agency with data, science and engineering at its heart. The startup’s roots date back to the mid-2010s, when co-founders Byron Tassoni-Resch and Adam Ruaux were working at a very young Deliveroo.

It was a complex time for search marketing, requiring them to build a lot of custom tech for the brand. When they had successfully developed those solutions and helped Deliveroo to scale, the pair began to wonder if other businesses could benefit.

WeDiscover joined the industry’s growing roster of agencies on 16 March 2020 - “the worst time to launch an agency in the last 50 years,” recalls Byron, given the country went into lockdown the following week. But it survived and has since established a successful agency model that sees it work with brands in three distinct ways: through direct management, like a traditional agency; consulting, where it collaborates with in-house teams; and developing technology solutions that support performance marketing goals.

In five years, WeDiscover has grown to around 50 employees across the UK and Europe, increasing 50-60% every year. It has won clients across America, Europe and the UK – including Carwow, IG Group and Domino's Pizza – and run activity on every continent except for Antarctica. In 2024, WeDiscover had an 80% win rate across 22 new pitches, while growing revenue by 50% year on year.

Now, looking to set itself up for the next stage of growth – with its sights set on 200 people in the next few years – WeDiscover has been investing in senior leadership and recently launched a new product team to accelerate innovation and create more IP.

Its strong company culture has undoubtedly played a role in acquiring and retaining talent so far; the agency has a 98% employee retention rate and employees are one of its biggest channels in terms of new referrals.

Another indicator of growth is surfacing in WeDiscover’s unique ‘ad spend under influence’ KPI, which enables it to measure the influence it has with bigger brands as it scales. It is on track to reach £0.5bn this year and chasing £1bn over the next two.

Beyond the agency world, WeDiscover featured in 2024’s Deloitte Technology Fast50 list in 2024 and in the FT1000 2025, putting it in the top 8% of fastest-growing European companies.
