GLC: Anti 'Paving Bill' campaign

Second prize winner in 'Special' category. Aimed to counter Local Government (Interim Provisions) Bill known as 'paving bill' because it paved the way for the abolition of the GLC by cancelling the May 1985 GLC elections. Negative attitudes to the GLC were strong at the time. Campaign wanted to show that democratic rights were at the heart of the issue, by working with and influencing the media. Press and posters used, MORI polls showed a change in public opinion and in press coverage which could only be attributed to the advertising.
