2019 IPA Annual Review sets out new transformation agenda

The review highlights all the IPA’s main initiatives under its three pillars of: commercial, effectiveness and talent.

The 2019 IPA Annual Review - Driving Growth - highlights how the agency trade body is helping adland transform its culture and business practices to secure a prosperous and sustainable future.

The review highlights all the IPA’s main initiatives under its three pillars of: commercial, effectiveness and talent. It also summarises its lobbying activity and explains why it is still calling for a ban on the microtargeting of political online ads.

Says its Director General Paul Bainsfair: "As this review ably shows, the IPA continues to provide much-needed core business support services for its members and opportunities for self-reflection and growth. This year’s milestone was to further extend our influence in China with the signing of our first Memorandum of Understanding with The China Advertising Association to cement our joint willingness to collaborate on CPD and qualifications. We also shared new insights from our annual Business Growth and Eff Conferences on pricing strategies and why there is a crisis in creativity; and most importantly what to do about it. Our focus for 2020 will be to promote why agencies are still relevant as key strategic partners for driving growth, and to provide more thought-provoking content on diversity and inclusion initiatives alongside celebrating the people pushing this agenda forwards."

IPA agencies now employ just under 25,000 staff. A quarter of them regularly engage in our events and training programme, and most of them engage with our advisory services which cover legal and regulatory issues and insight enquiries.
