IPA announces 2021 Council election results

Julian Douglas formally elected as IPA President.

Julian Douglas, Vice Chairman of VCCP, was formally elected as IPA President during the virtual IPA Special Council meeting. He will deliver his inaugural speech unveiling his Presidential agenda for the industry on Thursday 25 March 2021.

Newly appointed IPA Scotland Chair, David Shearer (Managing Director at MediaCom Edinburgh), and 44 Club Chair, Clare Lawson (Chief Customer Officer at Ogilvy), join Julian on Council as he begins his Presidency, while Nigel Vaz takes up an ex officio position on Council as the IPA’s Immediate Past President.

In addition, 14 members were either newly-elected or re-elected to the IPA Council following the results of its annual elections process.

Of those 14, six were re-elected for a further three years and eight are new to Council.

The re-elected members are:

  • Dan Cullen-Shute, CEO & Founder, Creature
  • Jason Dormieux, Global Chief Data & Technology Officer, Wavemaker/GroupM
  • Jamie Elliott, CEO, The Gate
  • Kate Howe, Executive Director, The Gate/MSQ
  • Tom Knox, Chairman, MullenLowe London

The newly elected members are:

  • Gareth Collins, CEO, dentsumcgarrybowen
  • Rhian Feather, Executive Business Director, OMD UK
  • Rob Gold, CEO, Gyro UK
  • Sam Hawkey, CEO, Saatchi & Saatchi London
  • Lisa Morgan, Managing Director, Generation Media
  • Luke Southern, CEO, Drum
  • Sara Tate, CEO, TBWA\London
  • Larissa Vince, CEO, NOW

Council is the governing body of the IPA, responsible for its overall management and strategic direction.  Council comprises 42 elected members, each of whom is elected for a three-year term, and six ex officio members, namely the two most recent IPA Past Presidents, plus the IPA Chairs of the 44 Club, England & Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
