The iList, which is open to those working at agencies, media owners and freelancers, features candidates from a wide range of disciplines and levels – from junior execs all the way up to CEO; and from creative, planning and strategy as well as HR and inclusion.
Each of the remarkable applicants has demonstrated how they are shifting the culture within the industry and demanding better representation in creative work.
The shortlist have been invited to be interviewed by a panel of industry greats led by Karen Blackett OBE later this month with the final iList, sponsored by Unilever, to be announced at a celebratory gala in May and feature in Campaign magazine, the iList’s media partner.
Commenting on the iList shortlist:
Says Leila Siddiqi, Associate Director, Diversity, IPA: "We have been delighted with the quality and the diversity of entries. What really struck us was the truly inspirational work that is being done behind the scenes, across different aspects of diversity by passionate individuals at all levels. There are some truly incredible names as well as some unsung heroes on this shortlist and judging is going to be a very difficult process. Congratulations to all involved."
Says Claire Beale, Global Editor-in-Chief. Campaign: "Judging the iList was such an incredibly powerful experience, not only because it’s clear that there are so many wonderful programmes and strategies in play that will help make our industry more inclusive at every level, but because it afforded the privilege of meeting some truly amazing people who are committed to driving this change."
Says Aline Santos, EVP Global Marketing and Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, Unilever: "Congratulations to all those that have been shortlisted. It’s encouraging to see such as wide-ranging and diverse mix of nominees from age to gender to career level and skills. It’s a testament to the fact that change comes in all shapes and sizes, from top-down to bottom up."
Says Vanessa Kingori, Publishing Director, British Vogue: "At British Vogue we believe that diversity champions true creativity; Non stereotypical advertising that reflects our consumers and the society we live in is key to the brand resonating with our large readership. Such communications are led by brands and agencies who believe in the power of inclusivity – and that comes from individuals who passionately support this agenda. That is why we are delighted to see the great work that the IPA and Unilever are doing through their new initiative, iList which demonstrates the power of inclusive leadership in advertising agencies."
