UK Chief Strategy Officer, VMLY&R, UK

Anna joined VMLY&R as CSO in 2022. Previously, Anna held the same role at TBWA\London for 4 years, leading the agency to an IPA Gold and Effie Grand Prix win for Lidl and a Cannes Lion Grand Prix for #stealourstaff. In 2018 Anna became an inaugural member of the Creative Strategy Lion Committee having co-developed the research behind the creation of the Creative Strategy Lion.

Previous to joining TBWA she spent 3 years at MullenLowe London as Head of Planning and then Group Head of Strategy, overseeing the integration of brand, social, media and PR strategy across the agency’s accounts. While at MullenLowe she pioneered the practice of pairing planners into teams and led the agency to the title of Most Effective Agency of the Year at the UK Effies in 2016 and 2017.

Anna began her career as a WPP Fellow before joining Grey London and BBH.

Anna has worked across most categories, from tech to washing up liquid, shoes to air miles, bras, paint and athletic wear and has won many effectiveness and creative awards in the process. As a former member of the German National Swim Team, Anna loves a good sporting analogy and is passionate about performance and resilience. During lockdown, she co-hosted the podcast The Rebuilders which is dedicated to turning setbacks into comebacks in business and in life. But above all she enjoys jumping on the trampoline with her daughter Rosamund and son Otto.
