Profile

InChief has been making a name for itself in the social space since it burst on to the scene seven years ago. It is the brainchild of digital media veteran Christina Watson, who took everything she had learned about the “dark art of content distribution” over 20 years to double down on the burgeoning world of influencers.

From stints at Heat in the early noughties to Vice, Hearst and News UK, Christina's decades-long passion for digital content has played a fundamental role in helping InChief to get to where it is today. The agency is headquartered in London with international reach, and working with major brands across fashion, tech and lifestyle. Some of the big hitters include National Trust, Zopa, Disney and Clearscore.

A growing portfolio of clients tends to call for more hands on deck, but Christina has been very deliberate about keeping headcount lean with her team of 7. Instead, leveraging fractional freelancers has enabled InChief to operate flexibly and meet client demands while keeping costs competitive.

InChief’s Trust Score tool is a major draw for brands in today's influencer marketing world. It started as a simple platform to store social information and spot rising talent, but has since evolved into a tool that lets brands measure the authenticity and influence of content creators. It can, quite literally, put a price on trust.

This year is all about scaling the trust and transparency InChief has created in the influencer space over the past few years – and shouting louder about it. There are a couple of big projects on the boil that will come to fruition this year and help catapult InChief into the next stages of growth.

InChief might have been started “by accident” by Christina’s own admission, but it was clearly in the right place at the right time. In 2026, it feels like InChief is in the right place at the right time again, ready to help brands navigate an increasingly murky and complex space – and hopefully restore some trust in marketing.
