Barclays: When actions speak louder than words

In 2010 the small business sector was in turmoil and banks were seen to be at fault. In order to retain the support and trust of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), who were crucial to the bank’s balance sheets, Barclays responded with action, not just words. They developed and launched the ‘Barclays business take one small step competition’ which was promoted via a nationwide bus tour, through the Barclays website, in their stores, and via local radio and PR. The competition earned Barclays £1.70 profit for every £1 invested
