We would like to remind agencies again of the dangers of cyber/phishing attacks.
The IPA has been notified by an agency member that one of their clients received a bogus email which appeared to be a genuine communication from the agency, notifying the client of the agency’s change of bank details and requesting that all future payments should be made to the agency using those new details. The agency had sent no such email. Fortunately, the client called the agency and was told that the email was fraudulent. The agency was then able to call other clients and alert them to the scam.
